How NOT to go on a Cruise
CHAPTER 4 ..ALRIGHT DON'T ANYBODY MOVE
"What time is it?... Must be pretty close to 8:00"
"I dunno we're almost there."
"There it is"
We pull into the parking lot with about 3 minutes to spare.
"We need U-Joints for a 72 Challenger"
"What size? They made 2 different sizes that year."
"Of course they did. Only 2 ...it starting to get too easy"
"Cody see if you can find some tools, I'll go get the driveshaft."
About a minute later I get back to the door carrying a 4 foot tube wrapped in a blanket at closing time (smile). Run back to the parts counter dropping needle bearings and fractured pieces of u-joint all the way.
"I don't beleive it, you have only 1 size and its the size we need, and you have 2 in stock. We must have ditched MURPHY and his law back on the interstate."
"I got a cheap ratchet, a pair of pliers for the snap rings and 3 sockets ,(1 to drive the u-joints , 1 to set the driveshaft on and a 3rd to bolt it back in). They don't have any kind of hammers here."
"OK so MURPHY isn't that far away, but we can do this. There must be something in your tool box we can use."
We do the 15 minute ride and get back to the car. Its about 9:00 and getting pretty dark.
"OK we got everything we need but a hammer."
"There's nothing heavy in the tool box"
"Find a rock."
A short time later we get the front u-joint out of the yokes and after a few more minutes of pounding we manage to get the front u-joint all back together.
CHAPTER 5 .. LIGHTS....ACTION or now you show up.
